What is Anytrust DA?
Anytrust DA is a variant of Arbitrum Nitro technology that lowers costs by making a mild trust assumption. It relies on an external Data Availability Committee (DAC) to store data and ensure its availability, rather than posting all data on the L1 Ethereum chain.

Data Availability Committee (DAC): The DAC consists of multiple members, of which at least two are assumed to be honest. This assumption ensures that the data will always be available when needed.

Keysets: A Keyset specifies the public keys of the DAC members and the number of signatures required for a Data Availability Certificate (DACert) to be valid. Keysets allow for dynamic changes in DAC membership and key management.

Data Availability Certificates (DACerts): A DACert contains the hash of a data block, an expiration time, and proof that a sufficient number of DAC members have signed the data block. This guarantees that the data will be available until the expiration time.
How Anytrust DA Works

Data Submission: When the Molten sequencer produces a data batch, it sends the data, along with an expiration time, to all DAC members. Each member stores the data and signs a (hash, expiration time) pair.

Certificate Creation: Once the sequencer collects enough signatures, it aggregates them to create a DACert. This DACert is then posted to the L1 inbox contract, making it available to the L2 chain.

Data Verification: The L2 chain verifies the DACert by checking the signatures against the Keyset, ensuring the data is available and valid. If the DACert is invalid or not available, the sequencer can fall back to posting the full data directly to L1.
